چکیده
Cellulosic paper (from wood fibers) is a highly flammable material that used in corrugated carboard, packaging, printing, and construction. While there significant work focused on depositing flame retardant coating onto the individual pulp fibers, are very few studies apply coatings to already-cast paper. In an effort improve properties of paper, polymer-dense coacervate composed polyethylenimine (PEI) poly(sodium phosphate) (PSP) was deposited single step subsequently crosslinked with glutaraldehyde. vertical test, PEI/PSP coacervate-coated achieves self-extinguishing behavior, average char length 3.4 in, only 35% weight gain. Additionally, retains its after water immersion conditioning tests. This system first polymeric be successfully commercially available cellulosic for purpose retardancy.

Effect of Oxygen Plasma Pretreatment and Titanium Dioxide Overlay Coating on Flame Retardant Finished Cotton Fabrics
Flammability properties of plasma pretreated cotton fabrics subjected to flame-retardant treatment were studied. Plasma pretreatment, using an atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ), was applied to cotton fabrics to enhance material properties, while retaining inherent advantages of the substrates. An organic phosphorus compound (flame-retardant agent, FR) together with a melamine resin (crossl...
متن کاملLignin-Modified Carbon Nanotube/Graphene Hybrid Coating as Efficient Flame Retardant
To reduce fire hazards and expand high-value applications of lignocellulosic materials, thin films comprising graphene nanoplatelets (GnPs) and multi-wall carbon nanotubes (CNTs) pre-adsorbed with alkali lignin were deposited by a Meyer rod process. Lightweight and highly flexible papers with increased gas impermeability were obtained by coating a protective layer of carbon nanomaterials in a r...
متن کاملDesign and UV-curable behaviour of boron based reactive diluent for epoxy acrylate oligomer used for flame retardant wood coating
Difunctional boron-containing reactive flame retardant for UV-curable epoxy acrylate oligomer was synthesized from phenyl boronic acid and glycidyl methacrylate. The synthesized reactive diluent was utilized to formulate ultraviolet (UV)-curable wood coatings. The weight fractions of reactive diluent in coatings formulation was varied from 5 to 25 wt % with constant photoinitiator concentration...
متن کاملA review of flame retardant polypropylene fibres
Flame retardants for polypropylene (PP) and their potential suitability for use in fibre applications are reviewed. Five principal types of generic flame retardant systems for inclusion in polypropylene fibres have been identified as phosphoruscontaining, halogen-containing, silicon-containing, metal hydrate and oxide and the more recently developed nanocomposite flame retardant formulations. T...
متن کاملA Novel Non-Halogenated Flame Retardant for Composite Materials
Flame retardants, such as inorganic fillers or halogenated resins, are incorporated into composites either as additives or reactive materials. In order to improve processability and mechanical properties, as well as reduce smoke toxicity, a method is being developed to introduce highly effective, inexpensive flame retardant materials into thermoset resins. Superabsorbent polymers (SAP) can be l...
